The compact disc version is the original issue. The audio was recorded directly from the mix console of Prince’s long time sound engineer, Scottie Baldwin. Live Sampler promo made available a few months previously. One track, Xenophobia, had not previously been released in any form, other than as a different live version on the One Nite Alone. The majority of tracks were originally from Prince’s studio albums between 19. Two tracks were originally on One Nite Alone., released six months earlier. Six of the album’s 27 tracks were originally on The Rainbow Children. The live tracks included on the release covered a large portion of Prince’s career. The tracklist is fairly representative of a typical night’s show on the tour, although it misses the number of cover versions performed regularly on the tour (such as A Case Of You, Love Rollercoaster, La-La Means I Love You and Sing A Simple Song), leaving only Prince compositions. The CD is the first audio document of Prince’s concerts and includes tracks from nine different shows from eight venues on the One Nite Alone. The box-set includes a new packaging and design by Sam Jennings, the One Nite Alone. On, The Prince Estate re-released the album with Sony’s Legacy Recordings on vinyl (individually) and a 4CD+DVD box set called Up All Nite With Prince: The One Nite Alone Collection. The Aftershow: It Ain’t Over! (the NPG Music Club edition also included a copy of One Nite Alone., which had previously been released through the club separately). It was available for purchase only as part of a 3CD box-set also including One Nite Alone.
